Who is Andrea Reynolds?
"Andrea Reynolds has
not only developed her left brain and her right brain
equally well, but trained them to talk to each
other." Vinod Busjeet, Ph.D., The
World Bank, Washington DC
"Where others see the
world in black and white, Andrea Reynolds the world in
blazing technicolour." Robert J. Brown, London
Polytechnic Institute, London England
Andrea
Reynolds has been retained for her
creative ideas by some of the world's most critical
thinkers including the Edward de Bono School of Thinking in
New York. As an author of how-to books, writer-advocate, on-air counselor
(radio and national TV), family studies teacher,
professional
speaker, and
crisis counselor, Andrea Reynolds has
been a creative source of multiple solutions to personal
predicaments and crises for many people. Having
experienced her own professional problems, she has
developed strength and resilience. She both utilizes her
brainstorming skills for others who, temporarily, cannot
find solutions, and teaches others to solve problems
creatively. Some of the people she has counseled and
consulted to are lawyers, physicians, psychologists, and
psychiatrists.
Andrea studied education in 3 countries (Kent State
University, Oxford University, and University of Toronto)
and also trained as a crisis counselor. At age 14 she
handled the deliberate suicide attempt of an adult family
member because she was the only one who had her wits about
her and knew what to do. As a survivor of numerous crises
herself, including a school shooting, a bombing in Belfast,
and the terror of being stalked by an alleged murderer, she
knows firsthand the stress and anxiety a crisis can
precipitate in her clients. She is a compassionate,
empathic listener and a creative brainstormer who offers
multiple, realistic options to resolve or handle your
crisis or challenge. She considers herself an Activist and
offers the Antidote to disrespect, intimidation,
mistreatment, bullying, and hostility: Standing up and
speaking up for better treatment, just remedies, and good
outcomes.
"In a former life I was a
Family Studies teacher; had studied education in 3
countries and trained as a crisis intervention counselor
under the auspices of The United Way. As a survivor of
numerous crises myself, including a home invasion, a school
shooting, a bombing in Belfast, and terrorism by two
separate stalkers -- threats and bullying directed at me
personally as a result of being quite visible and outspoken
on radio and national television -- I know the debilitating
stress and anxiety a crisis can precipitate. After
discovering I have a knack for seeing more solutions than
others around me, I've been solving people's crises as a
guest expert on talk radio in the US and Canada, and
national television for over 20 years."

Author's Bed & Breakfast in downtown Toronto which
incorporated many elements of civility to guests of many
nations and cultures.
Andrea brainstorms
creative, sometimes offbeat, but always do-able, solutions
to mind-numbing crises. For any "How do I/we... ?" question
she offers
10 creative solutions in 25 minute, private

As an outspoken critic
she has generated press coverage from Denver to Denmark
and Halifax to Honolulu, and made multiple appearances
as a guest expert on radio ("CBC Morningside" with Peter
Gzowski) and TV: Micki Moore Show, Dini Petty Show,
"Frost Over Canada" with David Frost, "Breakfast
Television" with Ann Rohmer, "Lunch Television" with
John Majhor, "Just Ask" with Fox's "House Calls"' Dr.

Star, The Financial Post, Entrepreneur, New York Daily
News, The Globe and Mail, Canadian Living, National
Post,
etc. She was a candidate critic for the
Globe and Mail, Canadian Press
and
Toronto Sun during the political
campaigns for Premier of Ontario and Prime Minister of
Canada. Her profile is listed in several Who's Who
directories (Who's
Who in Toronto and
Who's Who in Canadian Women), and she has been a
member of the National Writers Union (US) and Periodical
Writers Association of Canada.
A
turn of events
During a period of burnout
from her work in expert-promotion Andrea found herself
teaching classes on dating and romance as a replacement
instructor. She began conducting her own weekend seminars
for single adults at prestigious Toronto hotels. Her course
notes became two seminar manuals on creative dating ideas
and
avoiding empty
relationships, which she sold at
classes and by mail order.
She began appearing on
local talk radio and national TV programs and her media
appearances resulted in auditions for talk radio host
positions and freelance commentator work on 4 shows on
Canada's Life Network (TV). She hosted a weekend radio show
(WFLP 1530 AM) on serious relationship issues such as date
rape and abusive relationships and developed a
subscription-based newsletter.
Combining
two issues
When one of her clients
was swindled out of her life savings and lost her practice,
Andrea realized that an essential part of building a
successful practice or advice business is addressing the
personal component. When an important part of one's
personal life is askew or causing great stress, it's
difficult to perform efficiently as a professional.
For her clients' benefit
she keeps herself tuned in to the press and media by
writing booklets on personal challenges
such as
dealing with swindlers, stalkers, and
financial crises.
Training
She
completed a degree in Family Studies and Education, then
studied Marketing and Communications at Kent State
University, often the only woman in her business classes.
Working doubly hard to compete for good grades she was the
student who received the first and only "A" grade in ten
years from a marketing professor notorious for his refusal
to award A grades to his students.
Reynolds also studied
French at Hiram College, Education at the University of
Toronto and at Oxford University in England. She also
attended Edinboro University, Ryerson University, and took
graduate courses at the Fashion Institute of Technology in
New York.
Personally
and professionally...
Andrea Reynolds upholds
the 5 F's. She's
frugal:
doesn't spend or charge more than necessary or gives good
value for money received. She's
fair:
treats you as respectfully and ethically as she expects to
be treated. She's
flash-free: invests in what matters
-- content and promotion -- rather than a slick image.
She's
friendly: accessible and receptive
to everyone. She's
fearless: unafraid to try
something unorthodox in order to do the most good.
