If you're successful, in the entertainment industry, in public office, outspoken, visible, or sought after, there may come a time when someone's attraction or anger may become unwanted attention, harassment or worse. Whether it's a stranger, estranged partner, or crazy landlord, you must protect yourself from danger and harm by taking these steps which are recommended by former victims and police officers. If you know anyone who may be experiencing the threats and assaults of a stalker, give them this booklet and keep one for yourself. You could save someone's precious life.

The Story Behind This Booklet
As a freelance broadcaster on outspoken commentator on radio and television I had my share of crackpots who called or sent me harassing mail. But in 1997 a stalker gave me one of the most terrifying experiences in my life. One cop risked suspension by telling me what was on this man's arrest record. In fact the stalker was calling me from jail where he was charged with brutally raping and beating two women. I also learned he was a suspect in the (still) unsolved murders of two more women in my neighborhood. When the rape cases were dismissed (the victims were too afraid to testify effectively) he was free to escalate his threats to me.

I escaped... by being smart, but at the time I wish I had had this booklet to guide me. It is because of my experience and the other experience of others, and tips from police that I'm able to share this advice with you and any one else who needs them to stay alive.

Other women, broadcasters like me and other professionals, have disappeared or been found dead. It's my deepest regret that they didn't have this booklet.
