Andrea Reynolds,
known for her creative and often offbeat ideas (she teaches
seminars on creative thinking), says many orders come from
Toronto residents.
"They like the way I add a twist to ordinary date and
weekend activities . . . such as a subway station tour of
the art on display."
In addition to activities specific to Toronto, you'll find
some clever and practical ideas for romantic gift giving
and sparking or rekindling romance. The author even
suggests unusual ways to invite a friend or date for a
Toronto event or activity.
The
story behind Romantic & Playful Toronto
I actually published two books:
Let's Do Something Besides Dinner and a
Movie,
and Romantic and Playful
Toronto, which had
the same content but contained places and contact
information specific to Toronto. It was ideal for both
Toronto residents and visitors to Toronto. It was
perfect for guests who stayed at my Author's Bed &
Breakfast which was in downtown Toronto.
Originally, the Learning Annex asked me to conduct a class
called 50 Romantic and Playful Things to Do in Toronto. I
said, "What, only fifty?" The list wasn't just a list of
places: I added a twist ... something to make your time at
the location more memorable.
When my students asked for it, I published a little booklet
of 101 Romantic and Playful Things to Do. Then it became
401, and then 501. I stopped at 1001 which includes other
ideas like gifts and resources, which became Great Dates
and Romantic and Playful Toronto.

Author promotes Toronto
tourism to boost the economy shattered by SARS
outbreak
Romantic
& Playful Toronto book makes an
unexpected comeback.

[Erie, PA] An out-of-print book,
Romantic & Playful Toronto is suddenly starting to sell again after
5 years...even while SARS continues to be a threat to
Toronto's tourism industry. Hidden on a speaker agency web
site, Andrea Reynolds' activity guidebook is suddenly
receiving orders.
Romantic and Playful
Toronto is not
available on Amazon.com nor in any book store because it
looks more like a report than a book, but individuals are
sending $US 39
by Paypal
($44
from outside North America)
to get a 98 page copy which comes with two copies of her
booklet, 365 Critical Questions You Need to Ask Each
Other Before You Marry. Update:
The e-book
is now available at a $19 savings.
"I posted it on a secret page just for meeting planners who
may be organizing conferences and conventions in Toronto
and could hire some of my Toronto based speakers, says
former Toronto freelance broadcaster and Bed &
Breakfast owner, Andrea Reynolds. "How people found the
page is a mystery to me, but that they want to visit
Toronto now delights me. I'm not put off by concerns of
SARS. I want to others to see not only how romantic and
playful Toronto is but how safe it now is."
"Toronto is one of the greatest cities in the
world. Where else could you find a hospital community
that is working beyond human comprehension to save lives
and contain this virus," contends Reynolds, "and
a government that helps its citizens financially to
voluntarily isolate themselves so they don't have to
make a choice between feeding their families and doing
the right thing by not putting others at possible risk
of infection?"
Having booked Toronto speakers for upcoming Toronto
conferences, Reynolds offers a
free copy to meeting planners who
book her to speak at a Toronto
event. She is
planning to return to professional speaking on the
subject of solutions to crises and building an advice
empire. Some of
the orders are coming from Toronto and the others are
coming from other countries.
